ABOUT WESTVIEW
Welcome to Westview Elementary.
Westview is a neighbourhood school with a strong sense of community. Every day, our students, staff, and families work together to create a place where children feel safe, connected, and ready to learn.
At Westview, we believe that learning happens best when students feel that they belong. We work hard to ensure every child is known, valued, and supported. Whether students are learning to read, exploring new mathematical ideas, performing on stage, competing in athletics, participating in leadership opportunities, or simply building friendships on the playground, we want them to feel confident taking risks and discovering their strengths.
Our school is guided by the Westview Way: Be Kind, Be Safe, Be Respectful, and Be Responsible. These simple expectations help us build a positive learning environment where students learn not only academic skills, but also how to contribute to a caring and inclusive community.
We are proud to be located on the traditional and treaty territory of the Tla’amin Nation and are committed to learning about the history, cultures, and perspectives that help shape our community. We recognize that education is about more than preparing students for the future; it is about helping them understand themselves, others, and the world around them.
Westview has a rich history, rooted in the legacy of Grief Point School and generations of families who have called this neighbourhood home. Today, that tradition continues through the students who walk through our doors each day and the staff who are dedicated to helping them succeed.
Thank you for taking the time to learn more about our school. Whether you are a current family, a prospective family, or a community member, we invite you to explore our website and discover what makes Westview such a special place to learn and grow.
Sincerely,
Jennifer Kennedy
