Jennifer Kennedy, Principal

Jennifer Kennedy is a lifelong member of the qathet community and a proud graduate of qathet School District schools. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts, a Post-Degree Professional Program in Secondary Education, and a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Queen’s University.
Jennifer began her career as a teacher in 2009 and moved into school leadership in 2016, serving as a Vice-Principal in both secondary and elementary settings before becoming a Principal. Her leadership experience has spanned a variety of school communities and is grounded in a belief that strong relationships, clear systems, and high expectations create the conditions for students and staff to thrive.
As Principal of Westview Elementary, Jennifer is committed to fostering a school culture where students feel safe, connected, and challenged to grow. She values collaboration, continuous learning, and meaningful partnerships with families and the broader community. Jennifer is passionate about creating inclusive learning environments that support student success while empowering staff to do their best work.
Above all, Jennifer believes that schools are built on relationships. She strives to lead with curiosity, compassion, and a commitment to helping every student develop the confidence, skills, and sense of belonging needed to succeed.

Michelle holds a Bachelor's Degree in Child and Youth Care and has completed the Professional Development Program in Education.
With over 10 years of experience in Special Education, Michelle has also worked in intermediate and middle school classrooms with a focus on reading intervention.
Michelle’s leadership style is grounded in transformational principles, focusing on building strong relationships with families and staff to foster a supportive and inclusive community. She is dedicated to the growth of both students and colleagues, leads with compassion , and always prioritizes the needs of others.
Supporting students and families in their academic journeys is what motivates Michelle every day. She enjoys connecting with people and getting to know families beyond the classroom. Michelle is committed to making their experiences as positive and engaging as possible during their time together and wants families to know they can always reach out to her for anything.
