Community

Brooks Secondary School is located in the quiet, safe, coastal community of Powell River northwest of Vancouver. 

It is a community accessible by air via Pacific Coastal Airlines, and by car and BC Ferries. International students will experience the local community through school and family activities but will soon be able to walk and use the city bus to enjoy their time with new friends. The International Program organizes trips, activities and events including seasonal outdoor activities such as hiking, beach volleyball, and canoeing as well as an annual holiday banquet, beach barbecue, and a trip to qathet School District’s Outdoor Learning Center. 

Students are encouraged to participate in local volunteer activities and embrace the cultural and environmental activities available in our beautiful town. Excellent amenities including a good hospital and medical clinics, unique shopping, banking, transportation, etc. are all easily accessible to students.
