ABOUT

Brooks is a beautiful and diverse facility located in the qathet Regional District. We are the only high school in our community and serve approximately 850 students in Grades 8 through 12.

With the support of the BC Ministry of Education to create engaging and flexibly education systems, Brooks continues to find new and innovative ways to create a learning environment where our students can explore their interests and passions and become better prepared for their life’s journey.

Our team collectively works hard to ensure our students have a wide variety of choices in their course selection. In additional to our core academic courses, we have a variety of elective courses including: woodwork metalwork, culinary arts, textiles, a variety of visual art classes, drama, photography, digital media, video game design, a variety of PE courses, business course options and more.

Our Dual Credit options are immersive programs, which provides students the opportunity to take university first year courses or start a trade while still attending high school. Credits they earn in the post-secondary course go directly toward both their high school and post-secondary transcripts.

We continue to grow our online learning options through the Flex Centre (located in D127). These options provide a wider variety of choice for our students through online courses and support for students who are enrolled in other distance learning opportunities. The centre serve as a space where students can go for supervised studies and receive direct guidance from a teacher.

To keep our student's family well informed, important dates and events will be posted on our school calendar and a weekly newsletter will be posted to the school website and emailed to each student's family.  Please update your contact information at the Brooks main office to ensure you're receiving the most up to date information.

We encourage all our students to take advantage of the incredible learning opportunities that are available to them at Brooks Secondary. We also encourage parents and guardians to be actively involved in their child's school experience, as we believe that one of the most important factors in our students' successes is effective communication between school and home.

The true strength of our school continues to be the people that occupy it. Our students are incredible. Our staff and community continue to work hard to creatively find ways to help our capable young people thrive in this rapidly changing world. We are once again looking forward to working with our students, their families and our community as a whole.

If you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions regarding Brooks school or programs, please reach out to the Brooks main office.
