BC Graduation Program

International students enrolled in academic programs are offered BC government curriculum courses along with a wide range of electives.

The eventual goal for students in this program is to earn credits leading toward high school graduation (BC Dogwood Diploma) and preparation for entry into a post-secondary institution. The BC Dogwood diploma is recognized by post- secondary institutions throughout Canada and around the world. Powell River’s international students are successful graduates and go on to study in universities throughout Canada, the United States and around the world.

International students will enrol in courses required for graduation, as well as courses needed for acceptance to their particular post-secondary goals. Students will study in a variety of academic courses including mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, geology, geography, history, English composition, English literature, French, Spanish and law. Non-academic elective requirements can be met through courses including band, choir, drama, cooking, art, technology, computer programming, photography, media arts, physical education, metalwork, woodwork, accounting, clothing, and textiles. English Language Learning (ELL) courses will contribute to elective credit requirements.
