Getting Ready for K.PNG

  1. Ready, Set, Learn events can help both caregivers and children connect to a new school location and meet some friendly early learning professionals.
  2. StrongStart centres in our school and local parks can assist adults and children in forming friendships and accessing resources before they go to Kindergarten.
  3. The Kindergarten Health Fair is held annually in the qathet region to support children access developmental supports prior to school starting. Information about the fair is posted on our website.
  4. Welcome to Kindergarten events are held at every school as a chance to tour the building, meet some staff, and access resources. Invites are emailed to families from the school that they are registered at.
  5. Explore the Welcome to Kindergarten Booklets that provide pictures of the different schools. Looking at pictures and talking about the space can help build comfort and reduce anxiety for children who are unfamiliar with the school.
