qSD Welcomes Canadian Professional Hockey Forward Jade Downie-Landry
qathet School District was excited to welcome a very special guest this past week! Jade Downie-Landry, Canadian professional ice hockey player and forward for the Montréal Victoire of the Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL), spent time with students across the district, sharing her love of the game and her journey as a professional athlete.
Jade visited several elementary schools including Westview, Edgehill, and James Thomson, skated alongside students at the complex, and delivered inspiring presentations in both French and English, including one at Brooks Secondary for French Immersion and Hockey Academy students.
We are incredibly grateful for Jade’s energy, openness, and willingness to connect with our students, and inspire them to dream big and pursue their goals.
