Summer Child Care Pilot Program Wraps Up at qSD
Over the month of July, qSD welcomed more than 30 children from across the qathet region to Westview Elementary for its Summer Child Care pilot program!
Created to help meet the growing need for school-aged child care during the summer months, the four week program provided families with a safe, welcoming space where children could play, explore, learn, create, and build new friendships. Each week was filled with themed activities, outdoor play, swimming, arts and crafts, nature exploration, games, and plenty of opportunities for fun.
Many parents shared how excited their children were to attend each day, with some even saying they wished the program ran on weekends!
"It's been so lovely to see children from different schools come together to make new friends while others reconnect with familiar faces. They're so welcoming and inclusive. It's wonderful to watch them spend the day playing together, and by the end of the day, they're happily exhausted," said Karen Cooper, Child Care Coordinator.
Thank you to our dedicated staff for creating such a fun, caring, and engaging environment, and to the families who trusted qSD to be part of their children's summer.
