Celebrating Student Talent & Music Education at Kelly Creek Community School

On Wednesday, students in Grades K–7 at Kelly Creek Community School hosted their annual "Rocking the Creek" event for families, friends, and community members! The afternoon was packed with performances from all of the school’s music classes, including a rock band, concert band, primary choir, and intermediate choir. It was a wonderful way to showcase the school’s incredible music program and everything students have learned this year.
Students performed a wide range of songs, from classic rock anthems like “We Will Rock You” by Queen to bluegrass tunes and modern pop hits like “Call Me Maybe” by Carly Rae Jepsen and “Riptide” by Vance Joy.
A huge shout-out to music teacher Mr. Davis Steele for his dedication, passion, and leadership in music education throughout the qathet School District, and for his hard work in preparing to make this event possible.
And finally, thank you to everyone who came out to support the performers and to all the students who braved the stage!
