Speech-Language Pathology

The SL-P (Speech-Language Pathologist) provide a continuum of services to school aged children.  This includes assessments, consultation and direct therapy to children who have difficulties with communication, expressive or receptive language and articulation.  Supports may also be provided for children who have difficulty with understanding social language. The SLP also supports augmentative communication and alternative communication for children who require significant assistance to communicate.

Typically, each elementary school receives one day per week of SLP support.  The SLP may also provide consultative services for secondary students.

Speech-Language Services are accessed through a referral to the school- based team (SBT) and through preschool and kindergarten screening services.
